Does anyone know where I can find the right heating element for a Rheem model 815v-400 electric water heater?
I can't find anything on Rheem's website and even google searching comes up empty handed. Anyone know which element this thing uses? Its a small half-size tank.
Try turning the power off(naturally) Drain the water. Home Depot should have the socket to unscrew the heating element out of the side of the unit. Not expensive. Carefully disconnect the wires on the element and remember which one went where. Unscrew element using the socket and take element to your local electrical supply. Most will carry this element. Home Depot may also. Most are 220 volts depending on your unit. Screw new element back in place tight so not to leak. Never turn circuit breaker on without water in tank, as you know. Small units have one element. Larger units have two. Generally this will take care of your situation, if you are positive that the reset button was not tripped or the thermostat is not bad.
