How to disable automatic switchoff when loss of external power on Garmin GPS?
Is it possible to extend or disable automatic switch off?
As a delivery driver the GPS is attached to power all the time, but when I switch off ignition and do my delivery and come back a few minutes later the unit has turned off and have to go through all the start up procedure again.
Is there any way to disable the automatic switch off when loss of external power or extend the automatic turn off from 30 seconds to at least 5 minutes or more?
must be a hack somewhere?
I have a Garmin 1300
Its not always easy to remember to click dont switch off when pop up appears....
thought someone might have discovered a hack to sort this out as i am sure many other agree its an annoying feature to have.
get rid of the pop up and stay on whenever external power is lost
my garmin nuvi 680 GPS asks me to "allow unit to remain on" when i turn my vehicle off and it gives me a 10 second countdown where if i hit the "yes" option, it allows my Garmin GPS to use the battery power to remain on. otherwise, after the countdown, the unit automatically shuts down.
you may want to check your setting options to see whether that function is enabled. but my Garmin unit automatically asks me to remain on, if i do not respond it will turn off.
