Is it bad to turn off the computer by the main switch on the plug socket?
Everyday i shutdown my computer and then i turn it off by the main switch on the plug socket to save electric and prevent a fire or whatever. Is this bad for the computer?
When the computer is shut down, it consumes less current than an LED alarm clock, so there's not much point to it.
As far as fire hazards go, you should change the standard plug socket with one that has built in production against current overload. It aids computer health during use and also bad weather. Not to mention you can leave home without worries.
Finally, keeping your computer unplugged will eventually drain the battery on the motherboard faster. The one that regulates BIOS operations, internal calendar and clock. All the data is saved on flash memory, but still.
