Comcast ISP Connection?
Greetings All
I have ComCast for tv and phone. I also wanted their hi speed internet. Three different technicians came to my home but none knew how to install it, so I went to PeoplePc for an ISP. I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 notebook using windows vista and a 1390 802.11g Mini Card Wireless. Question can I use a 2-Way Phone Splitter Duplex RJ11 Jack Adapter Modular Line Dual in my ComCast modem for both voice and internet connection?
Also I would like to know that if I used this jack would it cause the connection line to go to permanent voice mail. I asked ComCast this question but their reply was “I guess so.” If anyone has an answer, I would appreciate it. Thank you.

Comcast doesn't use the RJ11 connection for Internet like DSL does. I currently use Comcast for all three services and the phone line is only used for connecting to the phone for digital phone service. All the services essentially come through your cable line. If you decide to use their hi-speed service then you be connecting your wireless router to the cable modem box using an ethernet cable. What the technicians probably didn't know how to do was setup your router to their cable modem.
