Easy Question- How thick is your saddle pad?

Just curious... how much padding do you use under your saddle (please specify english or western) I see so many thicknesses out there! I personally don't care for the really thick pads, because it is too difficult to tighten the cinch/girth enough, it always ends up too loose once mounted. I don't use just a blanket either, as it seems like it wouldn't offer much comfort to the horse... what about you?? & why??
