Independent Battery Source for Laptops/Notebooks?

I have a big issue with my 3-year-old HP notebook; both the power inlet and the power brick do not work. I got a quote, and the repair costs and turnaround are quite substantial... Is there an external battery that can be completely charged independently of the notebook that I can just slip into the battery slot when I want to power up? The laptop work well outside of the power issues, and I do not mind spending some money buying a completely autonomous battery power source. Thanks for taking the time to read/answer my question.

eBay is a very good source for finding Laptop Batteries, and other Laptop accessory replacements. They are off brand to the actual Laptops Manufacturer but, they are high quality batteries; work as well; last as long. I, myself, bought 2 Laptop batteries off eBay.
eBay was recommended by several Computer Repair Shops in my area for buying batteries for my Laptops.
