My compaq will not shut off unless I hold switch button in for 5 seconds?
How can I adjust that "hold on" to be less, like a simple press. I do not have a toggle switch, I have a pushbutton power on/off type switch which leaves it partially on when "off". I DO NOT have ANY viruses, trojans, spyware.
This 5 second hold only applies in the Windows program. While Compaq is loading up firstly the on/off button works immediately with a simple push in and release. After windows starts loading is when it takes longer. The computer has been taken back as far as I can 'restore' wise.
In my control panel/power options I do not see any adjustment of the button shut off speed.
I have XP pro
your very lucky bacause you have power push button, my compaq doesn't have, try to use some buttons to turn it on
