I have a bad muscle strain. Can someone recommend a good OTC muscle run for pain relief.?
I have tried Flexall and IcyHot. The pain is neck / shoulder area. I have tried heat and ice packs. I wonder if I should see a MD for a Rx drug.
Give it about three days. If the pain seems to be getting worse instead of better, you should see a physician.
A good over the counter rub is arnica gel. I got mine at GNC - any store that sells natural remedies should have it. Stuff like Icy Hot and Aspercreme just makes you feel as though your skin is burning, which I suppose takes your mind off the pain! I've tried most over the counter muscle rubs, and Arnica gel is the only one that has given me any relief... plus, as an added bonus, it fades bruises in a fraction of the normal time (good to know when you need to get rid of that hickey ASAP!).
